Camelthorn Lodge
Camp Life
In the cool woodlands on the southern edge of Ngamo’s famous Plains, Camelthorn Lodge is all about adding an extra touch of comfort and style to a memorable safari experience. The shade-throwing centerpiece Camelthorn tree is naturally the main gathering point—it looks particularly beautiful when lit up at night with hanging lanterns. The cozy forest lodge feel is further noticeable with a massive hearth in the dining room, and fireplaces in each villa, as well—a lovely way to warm up during the winter months in Hwange.
Meals are served a variety of ways and may be family style, in the bush or privately at your villa. Evening always ends around the welcoming firepit and is enjoyed by all. Wonderful birdlife and woodland animals—and possibly even rhinos—can be seen on the grounds of the lodge, while visiting the Sanctuary headquarters and the neighboring villages will provide a special dimension to your safari.
